Chicken eggs hold promise for drugmakers

Scottish researchers have developed the drug interferon and a potential anti-cancer antibody using biotech brown eggs produced by biotech-enhanced Isa Brown hens in an experiment that highlights the promise of "pharming" -- the use of farm animals to manufacture drugs. Oxford Biomedica helped the researchers harvest the drugs from the eggs.
