Electric vehicles will increase water usage

If Americans make a significant shift from gasoline-powered cars to all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, they will reduce oil consumption but will greatly increase the use of water used to make electricity. For Southwestern states, that water usage might make the shift to electric cars a policy issue.
