Lake Sakakawea's crude deposits draw increased interest

Now that oil is flowing daily from the first well drilled under Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota's largest lake, the Army Corps of Engineers has issued three new drilling permits and has six pending. Environmentally friendly horizontal drilling methods are being used to get at the millions of barrels of oil believed to be in the reserve called the Middle Bakken.
