NIH genomics center to study health disparities

NIH's new Intramural Center for Genomics and Health Disparities is a trans-NIH initiative that will focus on health disparities, looking at certain populations that are affected by common diseases such as obesity and hypertension. Researchers will examine genetic, lifestyle and socio-economic data looking for genomic variances that contribute to disease susceptibility and drug response.
