Detroit's Hotel St. Regis hit hard by recession

A bankruptcy judge has put central Detroit's once-grand Hotel St. Regis in the hands of turnaround specialist AlixPartners after the owners defaulted on an $8.7 million construction-and-mortgage loan. The headquarters of General Motors used to be across the street but when the automaker moved, a lot of the hotel business related to the company left with it.
