Michigan special-educator earns state CEC award

High-school math and special-education teacher Pamela Pence won the Michigan CEC's annual Dr. William Morse education award. "She believes that teaching is more than just the curriculum and assessments," wrote former student and previous CEC "Yes I Can" award winner Brandon Heselschwerdt in his nomination letter. "She demonstrates excellence in education by caring about her students, inspiring them to be successful, and her willingness to bend over backwards and going above and beyond to ensure [their success]."
