Traditional investment banking makes a comeback on downturn

With several major financial firms out of the picture, companies such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase are now starting to reap returns from traditionally unprofitable loans and trades. Recent data show the bid-ask spread has nearly doubled over the last six months because firms are able to buy stocks much cheaper, while credit has become more expensive.
