EPA to enhance evaluation of flea and tick treatments

The Environmental Protection Agency announced Wednesday that it will impose new requirements on flea and tick products for cats and dogs to address the growing incidence of pets showing adverse reactions to the treatments. The agency also urged pet owners to "carefully read and follow all labeling before exposing your pet to a pesticide."
