Meaningful use changes must align with other rules, CMS exec says

CMS must ensure that revisions to the final rule on meaningful use line up with related rules for certification and standards, a CMS director said. This interplay among the regulations is crucial because they outline the criteria that providers must meet to be eligible for incentives, as well as the functions required from electronic health record systems to be considered meaningful, the director said.
