As premium traffic edges up, outlook grows brighter

International premium traffic rose 5.5% in January, a second consecutive monthly increase following more than a year of declines. Though yields remain low, industry leaders now believe the recession may not have permanently altered corporate travel patterns, as some had feared. "It now looks as though the recession in premium travel has been cyclical rather than a permanent fall," says a group representing international airlines.
