Study: Brain stimulation implant reduces epileptic seizures

A 110-patient study found that a deep brain stimulation device for the treatment of epilepsy reduced seizures by half in 54% of the patients and made 14 patients seizure-free for five months. An FDA panel voted in favor of approving the device for the condition, but the agency has not made a final ruling.
