Ala. district transitions to online meal payments

Beginning in the next school year, parents in an Alabama school district will be able to add money to their children's meal accounts using online check, debit card, VISA or MasterCard. The district currently is soliciting feedback from parents about the new system, which includes a $1 convenience fee to pay online. The program also sends e-mails to parents when their children's accounts are running low.
