BASF strikes research deal with Mass. universities

BASF has struck an agreement with three Massachusetts-based universities for advanced materials research. The venture follows similar efforts by Dow Chemical and Eastman Chemical to partner with educational institutions to expand research. BASF's five-year deal will establish about 20 postdoctoral positions and focus on specific bio-based and nanotechnology products.
