Colonoscopy is about screening and prevention

Gastroenterologists say colonoscopy for colorectal cancer is a valuable, life-saving tool because it serves to screen patients and allows physicians to remove polyps, preventing cancer from ever developing. "Colonoscopy is the most cost-effective cancer screening test we have," said Dr. Ananthram Reddy, but he said compliance rates must be increased.
