Construction spending in Boston rises 37%

Construction spending rose 37% in Boston for the year that ended on June 30, according to the mayor's office. The estimated $3.83 billion spent is the highest since 2008. Much of the spending is in the city's Seaport area, where offices, hotels and luxury condominiums are being built.
