Banks exceed $20B in mortgage-settlement aid

Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup and Ally Financial have provided more than $20 billion in relief to borrowers through methods including refinancing, short sales and accepting deeds in lieu of foreclosure. This ends the monetary portion of a settlement with regulators regarding past foreclosure practices.
