Older patients with physical activity goals lose more weight

Data on older obese patients following a hypocaloric diet and aerobic exercise regime showed those who also received an intervention to promote physical activity lost more weight and had more minutes of light activity at five months than those in the control group. Patients in the self-monitoring intervention group also regained fewer pounds during the study's second phase compared with the non-intervention arm, researchers reported in the journal Obesity.
