Report analyzes prenatal care providers

Data from the National Center for Health Statistics showed approximately 1 of out of 7 routine prenatal care visits from 2009 to 2010 was to clinicians who were not specifically trained in obstetrics or gynecology. The report found that women living in large suburban areas were less likely to get prenatal care from non-ob/gyn health care professionals, compared with their urban and small town peers.
