Report: Few STEM majors show interest in federal careers

Research indicates that 2% of college majors in science, technology, engineering and math subjects are interested in careers in the federal government. The survey by the Partnership for Public Service and the National Association of Colleges and Employers also says about half of STEM majors also expect to earn more than $55,000 a year, which makes it more challenging for the federal government to attract top STEM talent.
