Sony aims for No. 3 smartphone spot in Mideast, Africa

Sony expects to improve on last year's 30% gain in mobile phone sales across the Middle East and Africa with a 50% surge in 2014. The company is rolling out a new phone twice a year in the market in an effort to increase its share, currently about 3%, to double digits. It hopes to become the region's third-largest smartphone manufacturer.
