Techs should emphasize ultrasound for women with dense breasts, expert says

Technologists who work directly with patients should help women with dense breasts understand the implications of tissue density and urge them to consider ultrasound following their mammogram, according to Jerry Kolb, CEO of breast reporting software developer Ikonopedia, who spoke at the National Consortium of Breast Centers meeting in Las Vegas. Because "compliance equals convenience," he said, "... it's imperative that all screening procedures occur on the same visit."
