Analysis: Affordable Hawaiian stays come with a walk to the beach

Despite the upward trend in amenities and overall costs, tourists still can find hotel rooms under $100 a night in Hawaii -- home to the country's second-highest average room rates. However, visitors to Hawaii should expect only the basics in their lodgings, and they'll most likely have to walk to the beach.
