Paper: Accused Florida teachers back in classrooms

Half of roughly 750 Florida teachers punished since 1997 for sexual misconduct or assaults on students kept their license to teach and about 150 remain in classrooms, according to a two-year investigation by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. The Florida Department of Education said the responsibility for weeding out bad teachers should fall to local districts.
