Hotels facing room boom, slower revenue growth

A travel slump will coincide with thousands of new hotel rooms coming on line, leading to a room boom that one industry analyst labeled "scary." Two reports predict hotel occupancy will drop and revenue growth will slow in the U.S. through the end of next year. "When you put together the supply-and-demand numbers, it's kind of scary," said Bjorn Hanson, lodging consultant at PWC.
