Opinion: Both turfgrass, ground cover can benefit environment

In his gardening column for the Washington Post, Joel Lerner, president of Environmental Design in Capitol View Park, Md., argues that both turf and ground cover offer benefits to the environment. Whether it's a lush, green carpet or a more natural look, Lerner says the soil must be covered to prevent erosion and trap pollution, among other benefits.
