Stress-related gene variations linked to PTSD

Variations in a stress-related gene may determine whether people recover from a traumatic event or develop post-traumatic stress disorder. A study of adult survivors of severe child abuse showed those with the gene variations scored more than twice as high on a scale of post-traumatic stress.
