Geithner's missteps could complicate crisis resolution

Lawmakers are questioning why U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner did not prevent bonus payments to American International Group employees, with two Republicans calling for Geithner's resignation. Handling of the AIG bonuses is being added to a list of the Treasury's missteps, which some said could complicate the government's efforts to curb the economic crisis. President Barack Obama continues to express confidence in Geithner. "He is making all the right moves in terms of playing a bad hand," Obama said.
