Illinois governor pledges support for new Chicago airport

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn vowed on Wednesday to forge ahead with plans for a third major airport in the Chicago area. "We will build a third airport in the south suburbs of Chicago, and we will build it as fast as humanly possible," Quinn told lawmakers during his budget address. Illinois has been buying land for the airport, and officials have submitted plans to the FAA, though there is no firm time line for beginning construction at the proposed site in Will County.
