More choices, higher quality available in half-bottles of wine

The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco's Small Bites/Small Bottles menu features half-bottles of wine, which have been getting more respect lately. "There used to be a time when half-bottles were only produced by wineries trying to get rid of their wine," the wine director said. "Now you have boutique wineries producing half-bottles of wines that aren't even available in full bottles because the allocation is so small."
