Teacher training should be focus for Obama, Duncan

Plans by President Barack Obama and U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan to improve education will not be successful unless there is increased emphasis on teacher training, writes Marc Bernstein, a Long Island superintendent. Bernstein suggests that Obama gather representatives from teachers unions and other organizations to study successful teacher-training programs.
