Fed might increase discount rate soon, economists say

Economists predicted that the Federal Reserve will increase the discount rate it charges banks for direct loans before the April 28 meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee. "It's going to happen at some point," said JPMorgan Chase economist Michael Feroli. "Whether it's today, whether it's next week or next month is hard to say."
