Florida nurseries hope to emerge from long-term slump

The nursery and landscape industry in Florida, second in the nation in sales behind California, hopes to emerge from an economic decline that began in 2006. Business owners are hopeful that business will pick up this spring as the harsh winter has left landscapes messy and consumers will look to buy plants to improve the conditions. "Spring is our holiday season, basically," said Craig Fishel, a Home Depot spokesman.
