Linoleic acid supplement may help slow weight gain in children

Overweight and obese children who took a supplement containing conjugated linoleic acid for seven months gained less fat than those given a placebo. Researchers said additional studies are needed, however, because children taking CLA also had reductions in blood levels of HDL cholesterol and lesser gains in bone mass.
