Lockheed Martin tests first F-35 vertical landing

Lockheed Martin tested the first vertical landing of its F-35 this week, representing a milestone in providing evidence that the aircraft will be suitable for the U.S. Marine Corps as well as British and Italian forces. The aircraft hovered at about 150 feet above the landing site for about one minute before descending vertically to the runway.
