Memphis airport to get $11M overhaul of security checkpoint

Tennessee's Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority on Thursday voted to move ahead with an $11 million overhaul of the passenger screening area at the airport's busiest terminal. The project to add more security lanes and access features is "one of the most significant redesigns" of Terminal B in recent history, according to the chairman of the airport board. Construction is expected to begin in June and should be completed within six to nine months.
