ComReg: Ireland to auction 280 MHz of 4G LTE spectrum this summer

Telecom regulators in Ireland have paved the way for auctions this summer of wireless spectrum suitable for 4G Long-Term Evolution services. Ireland's Commission for Communications Regulation issued a statement confirming the government's intention to auction 28 blocks of spectrum in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands to the highest bidder, which will more than double the licensed assignments in the bands.
