GE reports progress in nano-enabled anti-icing surface technology

GE Global Research reported progress in its bid to develop a nano-enabled anti-icing membrane. The technology, which could be used in wind turbine blades, prevents ice formation under extreme conditions, said Azar Alizadeh, the lead researcher on the anti-icing surfaces program. "These technologies could one day reduce and possibly even eliminate the need for existing anti-icing measures, maintaining safety while also saving businesses and consumers time and money," Alizadeh said.
