Poll: Majority of Americans still favor renewables over fossil fuels

A majority of Americans surveyed think that renewable-power development is more important than expanding domestic production of fossil fuels, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center. However, that majority has slipped to 52%, down from 63% in March 2011. The percentage of respondents who preferred expanded fossil fuel production over renewable-energy development rose to 39%, up from 29% in March 2011, the poll showed.
