Stolen digital certificates surface in wave of malware attacks

Cybersecurity experts have discovered a new variant of malware that relies on stolen digital certificates to trick target PCs into giving hackers the authority to install a string of malicious DLL files. The researchers, from Kaspersky, say the Mediyes trojan -- one of several known to exploit stolen digital certificates -- redirects search engine queries on infected machines to Search 123, a pay-per-click advertising site.
