Study: Alendronate eases periodontitis in type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes patients with periodontitis who received 1% alendronate gel in periodontal pockets attained better probing depth, mean periodontal attachment level and mean bone defect fill compared with those who took a placebo, according to a study in the Journal of Periodontology.
