Va. school nutrition professional is honored for service

A school nutrition professional in Virginia has received a Lifetime Achievement award for 49 years of service in Shenandoah County School cafeterias. Beverly Polk says she works to find creative ways to prepare meals for students, and also has promoted the inclusion of fresh foods. Polk bakes bread from scratch, makes some meals from scratch and has begun using whole wheat bread.
