$1B pollution control project at Tenn. power plant to create 900 jobs

The Tennessee Valley Authority will move ahead with a $1 billion plan to build four scrubbers at its coal-fired power plant in Gallatin, Tenn. The upgrades, which will create 900 construction jobs, help it comply with an agreement between the Environmental Protection Agency and other entities. The project is slated for completion by 2016. TVA will also invest between $500,000 and $700,000 to help construct a new Cumberland River Aquatic Center.
