Calio: Time to reexamine how our country treats its airline industry

Nicholas Calio, president and CEO of Airlines for America, said the federal government receives $19 billion through taxes and fees levied on airlines and passengers. "If government officials truly believe the role of the airlines is as critical to the economy as their sequester warnings have made it out to be, they should take this opportunity to reexamine how our country treats its airline industry," he writes.
