More states may follow Ark. lead on Medicaid

An Arkansas plan to move 250,000 Medicaid-eligible residents into private plans through a government health insurance exchange would not significantly increase federal costs, according to a state analysis. The federal government could even save $700 million on tax subsidies in the state, the report said. Other states that may follow a similar path are Florida, Maine, Louisiana and Ohio.
