New Rona CEO faces challenging times

Robert Sawyer will leave his COO post at Metro to take the reins at Rona next month, assuming the CEO job just as the home-improvement chain is facing a slowing housing market and struggling to streamline its operations after years of small acquisitions. Last year, the Quebec-based chain rejected a $1.8 billion buyout offer from US rival Lowe's.
