Senators propose shifting budget cuts away from ATC towers

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., have teamed up to support a bipartisan amendment proposed by Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., to re-appropriate $50 million in Federal Aviation Administration funding to keep 170 contracted air traffic control towers open. Murphy said, "I'm hopeful that this amendment will pass, and I applaud my colleagues for coming together to fight these devastating and ridiculous cuts."
