Will Twitter become the newest retail platform?

American Express launched a program last month that lets members sync their cards to their Twitter accounts and make purchases directly from the social site. The program aims to help retailers boost sales among users who may want to purchase a product they see mentioned, but don't want to leave the platform -- and risk missing a tweet -- to make the purchase, says AmEx executive Leslie Berland.
