Analysis finds few adverse events linked to statins

U.K. researchers who analyzed data from 29 clinical trials of statin drugs being used for cardiovascular prevention found only a small percentage of reported side effects could be attributed to the medication. The study in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology said participants in the placebo arms of the studies reported more serious adverse effects than those who got the actual medication.
