Many U.S. adults buy in to health conspiracy theories

In a poll of more than 1,300 adults, researchers found that 49% of them reported believing in at least one medical conspiracy theory, while 18% believed in at least three. The online survey found that 37% of the respondents reported believing that the FDA deliberately keeps natural treatments off the market because of pressure from pharmaceutical companies. The findings, published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, reflect "a very low level of trust" in government and business, researchers said.
