Minibars disappear as hotels grow late-night food options

Hotel chains including Hilton and Marriott are planning to phase out guest room minibars in favor of 24-hour room service, lobby snack service or grocery delivery service. Other hotels such as the Four Seasons in Los Angeles are upgrading minibar offerings to include items such as organic candy bars, while still other hotels are doing away with the minibar and offering only an empty fridge where guests can store their own food.
